- I recently acquired a Motorola Power 28.8 and am pleased with the
- acquisiton. The documentation seems to be a bit on the sparse side though.
- For example, the only mention of it having flash ROM was on the box,
- and the subject isn't in the index. Anyhow, back to the problem at
- hand. Basically, the modem seems to take forever to return a busy
- code. On my previous modem, as soon as the first busy signal was
- heard the modem would disconnect and return a busy status. I'd like to
- set the 28.8 to do the same thing. There seems to be some
- relationship between the S7 register and how long the modem will wait
- for a connection to complete. I am hoping that there is a way to
- shorten the time it takes to report BUSY while not affecting the
- amount of time the modem has to make a connection. (Some of the places
- I call take a while to answer the phone and then establish the
- connections.) I am running the Rev 4 software. So, if anyone has any
- pointers on this that would be appreciated.
